Wearing contact lenses and irritates the eyes?
Avoid powdery shadows or those containing metallic or glittery dust which can flake into the eyes, causing irritation. Opt for the stick, pencil or creamy powder eyeshadows. As for mascara, steer clear of lash-lengthening or thickening mascaras, as they contain fibers meant to extend the eyelashes. These fibers can flake and get trapped between yourdlens and your eye, triggering irritation and might cause damage to the cornea of the eyes. For contact lens wearer, look for wateproof, smudgeproof and flakeproof formulas.
Another tip is to wear the lens before applying make up. This will not allow mascaras, powders, etc to smudge and cause flakes.
Also, remove lens before removing the make up. It is advisable to use a non oily eye make up remover to remove eye make up, as oily removers will leave a coating of greay film around the eye and will also coat the lenses when you reinsert them.
Sponge tips applicators are best for lens wearers and avoid using cottonballs or cotton swabs near the eyes as they can leave cotton fibers which can stick to your lenses.
