Been talking to my friend liza on Aging. I still remember a classmate who used to have mosquito bite marks all over both legs and we used to laugh it off by saying that she will need to wear stockings everytime she goes out of the house. Though we laughed at it, behind our minds we knew it is extremely hot in Malaysia, and unless one is in the air conditioned room throughout. That's for legs, what about the face as we age? First let's understand what happens when we age.....
* Our skin produces less collagen and we look noticeably older
* Fine lines start to show which will become deep wrinkles
* We put on weight easily and our muscles shrink.
* Our immune system weakens
* We feel easily tired and our sex drive diminishes
* We loose calcium and our bones become brittle.
Whenever you go to a beauty seminar, questions like " who would like to look 5-10 years younger?" We would raise our hands and looked at the presenter eagerly for a solution. Twenty years ago we would just guide the person to go through a regimen of skincare, today the steps are almost the same, but the cutting edge technology has produced many wonderful products to visibly reverse the signs of aging.
Recently, I tried on a synergy DNA repair creme and found it to be really effective. It is also known as Generation IV DNA level anti aging technology. This is unique and is supported by clinical study on 6 females, average of 50 years old having wrinkles and dry skin. The elasticity of their skin improved by 35%. That's awesome! Liza and I have tried it and we are bowled over by it and will continue to use thie DNA repair creme to keep us youthful looking as well as feeling good about it.

Beauty Add-ons
Jewellery, scarves and belts....... look for quality costume jewellery, ( need not be expensive) which looks expensive. Buy accessories that complement your body size. Big boned - you can carry big square cut scarves, bolder accessories, larger pins and dramatic necklaces and earrings. If the accessories are too tiny, it will get 'lost' on you. If you are small boned, go for smaller, more discreet pieces.
Heavy hips? wear thin bracelets or none at all, to distract direct attention to the hips. Use larger pins or scarves to attract attention upwards.

Beauty spoilers
The rain has not stopped since December of 2006 - not only is the weather gloomy, the skin becomes gloomy too. Thinking that it is raining all the time, many of us would skip the sunscreen in our daily skincare. Don't be fooled into thinking that the skin's safe from the sun. UV rays can cut through a light cloud and causes damage to unprotected skin. Play safe, apply either a moisturizer or foundation containing sunscreen onto the skin.
Supplemeting with essential fatty acids such as omega-3, 6, and 9 (using the right amounts of properly balanced essential fatty acid-rich products) will also assist the skin to burn less.

Don't worry, be happy
Here I am, trying to continue the blog after some challenges with the internet. There was also the issue of floods in Johor, Malaysia South, which distracted me as I have many friends down there. I was able to keep in touch with them via handphone and thank God, they are fine but sad that they have lost many items swept away by the flood water. On the positive side, they are humming " Don't worry, be Happy!" This is because they are all alive and things can be bought with money later. My dear friends, I honestly don't know what else to say (we have said so much over the phone) but will continue to pray for your safety and health. God bless!

Stress.....skin
Stress and anxiety can show up on your skin and triggers various skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, etc. Sometimes stress can take a toll on your physical and mental well-being, lowering the immune system. With lowered immunity, the body tends to get flu, colds and headaches which can also lead to various other illnesses. Stress will also affect your sleep patterns and upset your work flow. Stress also leaves you irritable, impatient and drained of energy.
Stress also causes the skin to develop dark patches on the cheeks!
Here are some ways to handle your stress :-
* If you are tired, take a cat-nap, 15-20 minutes nap can renergize you. Dozizng off for more than 20 minutes can make you more tired!
* Do deep breathing exercises for 1 minute each time ( 5-6 times per day) will help to relieve stress.
* Learn a relaxation technique such as meditation.
* Laugh ... laughter is the best medicine.
* Treat yourself to a good body massage.....Japanese shiatsu and other tension relieving massage.
* A warm bath for relaxation
* Avoid alcoholic drinks and caffeine which can disturb sleep.
If you have a sedentary job, stand up once every hour and do some simple tension relieving exercises :-
1. Do about 10 shoulder shrugs to relive tension around neck and shoulder.
2. Stretch arms (alternately) upwards towards ceiling about 5 times each arm.
3. Do neck rolls, followed by arm sweeping in circles about 5 times each arm.
Have fun!
